I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

It’s hard to believe but there was a cartoon about an immigrant mouse and it was seen as totally fine and not controversial and not woke because it was an aspirational and nice thing about America that people could come here and find a better life

In addition to the poor going hungry Trump finds another way to hurt farmers. SNAP could help people get real food but many will now be on dry rice/beans/pasta until this is over.

Current least favorite feature of the the anti-trump crowd. As soon as anyone stands up to Trump everyone has to talk about how 'insert democrat' fails some purity test before they can get around to applauding the attempt at resistance. No wonder so many democrats at too weak to stand up.

Even right wing hard cases get it. Next democratic government ( if it ever happens) needs to use this as a push for DC statehood. Supreme court will justify the takeover on narrow non state nonsense.
There’s no longer any pretense this has anything to do with crime (there are cities or parts of cities in SC and Ohio that have higher crime rates than DC — send the troops there!). This is about establishing a precedent for Trump seizing control of the nation’s capital when he wants to.
