Those of us who are SA survivors are used to the mass shrug in response to even the most overt evidence of horrific behavior. Epstein's crimes and the complicity of many influential figures involved have been known for decades (’05 to be exact). It's never mustered much interest or consequence.

Rural hospitals like East Adams in Ritzville may lay off most staff or shut down entirely, all because of the Republicans' budget bill. While Rep. Baumgartner and other Republicans pave the way for billionaires to get richer, rural communities will feel the harsh realities of their extreme agenda.
Ritzville hospital to lay off more than 100 employees, at risk of closure
Ritzville’s East Adams Rural Health Care is in dire financial straits as the hospital considers laying off the majority of its workforce or closing entirely.

Access journalism is already a cancer. This is something worse than cancer.
Michael Wolff tried to buy New York Mag — with money from Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein.

So Wolff didn't just have a reporter-source relationship with Epstein. Nor was Wolff his informal PR adviser. They saw each other as potential business partners.

Blurred lines: how Michael Wolff aspired to be part of elite circles he wrote about
The writer who features prominently in newly released Jeffrey Epstein emails has achieved extraordinary access but faced questions about his journalistic ethics

The persuasiveness of this argument depends entirely on people being completely ignorant of anything that has been published in the New York Times at any point in the last 20 years.

Like all elites when the unwashed have the temerity to call them out, they talk to us like we’re stupid.
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

it‘s misogyny to say the New York Times killed Epstein stories
"I'm a rando who prefers to believe that everything is a conspiracy and am happy to tell women that I know better than she does how their literal job works" That a news org makes an editorial decision you wouldn't (or I wouldn't) doesn't mean someone is killing a story on behalf of a powerful person
"I write for the New York Times, and I can assure you that we've never buried stories on behalf of powerful people, many of those powerful people being part of NYT management. We only publish what's fit to print, like Zohran's application to Columbia that was leaked by a white nationalist"

We are invited to assume that the New York Times did not know what Epstein was telling Landon Thomas about Trump. I decline to extend that charity.

If Epstein wanted the NYT to write about it, he should have made it about a Democrat and gotten a white nationalist hacker to leak it to them.

well that's odd, because in late december 2018 epstein tells larry summers he's in palm beach, summers asks if he's going to mar-a-lago, then christmas morning epstein tells summers he's "being asked for 3 names to replace mnuchin"
