Child has a fever and mild cold symptoms. They see their PCP/urgent care/etc and get diagnosis of "strep" without testing or ear infection. They get started on amoxil.

3 days later the fever breaks and the kid gets a rash all over.

This happens ALL THE TIME.

I would do it exclusively in red areas. Go where minds can be changed. Not where the choir already stands behind you !
Good idea. But why not have him do it from Main Street, USA? Go on location and deliver the news to the people outside the DC bubble. Interview people the news would affect.

Don’t make it a press conf. Make it a sales pitch that happens to be a news/entertainment show with direct distribution.

Can someone suggest a service that lets people email or call their legislators directly through a campaign-specific link with as little friction as possible?

You see a link/QR code in a video that takes you to a page that populates emails and calls to your elected officials.

Probably because the reproducibility crisis means that only 10% of research findings are of any consequence and that major grants are awarded to people with one foot in the grave–young scientists and risks are verboten at NIH.
I’m scrolling through news a day after the Trump admin shut down coms, travel, and function from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and I don’t see any mainstream media coverage for an impact upon our society & economy that is going to be multiples of 100s of billions and science and health.

People sometimes make fun of science that sounds stupid and random.

Meanwhile, a study of lizard saliva turned into a peptide medication, which was turned into a diabetes medication, which was turned into a GLP1 weight loss drug, that just became the first therapy every approved for … sleep apnea
Breaking News: The FDA approved use of the weight loss drug Zepbound for a common form of sleep apnea. It is the first drug authorized to treat the disorder.

Truly remarkable how Republicans manage to be on the wrong side of everything, their steadfastness in corruption and incompetence. There's an obvious answer to, "should the government make it easy to file taxes, or should people be forced to use private companies to do it?"

And yet.
new republican day one priority: making it harder and more expensive to file your taxes

As an emergency physician from day 1 of the pandemic, who was offered a COVID vaccine the first week it was available, I had watched young, healthy people die in alarming ways, but I was worried about sticking this stuff into my arm that was approved under an emergency authorization. 1/
Today’s class session in my introductory public health class is going to be entirely devoted to an overview of how vaccines work and how they are researched and regulated. I believe it is my responsibility as a public health professor to share this information and be available to discuss questions.
