GOT Spinoff ‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ Releases Teaser Trailer
It was around the second season of House Of The Dragon that some people started asking: “why are these stories always about royalty and no one else?” The answer is right in the title. It’s a Game of THRONES. It’s what you signed up for. But still, surely something interesting must be going on among the peasantry, right? The coming spinoff A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms answers that question. It takes place far from any torch-lit castle or drawbridge. It’s star isn’t a king or a prince, but Duncan the Tall, a former squire who suddenly graduates into a knight after the passing of his mentor. Now HE needs a squire, as per the rules, and that’s when a weird little bald kid enters his life. They call him Egg because…well, he looks like one. GRRM’s stories about the knight and the squire are called the “Dunk and Egg” stories. The first of these, The Hedge Knight: The Tourney at the Ashford Meadow, will be adapted into the first season of A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms. Dunk and Egg are some of the author’s most interesting characters and this teaser suggests they translate to television pretty well. More evidence for my theory that everywhere is becoming France, a country where the voters hate everyone
It's true. If Labour raise income taxes, the party might slump to around a quarter of the vote, and its PM and Chancellor might be even more unpopular than Rishi Sunak in 2024 or Jeremy Corbyn in 2019 - wait, sorry, just got an email from Ipsos with some new polling, I'm sure it's nothing important.

Honestly, just using terms like "OSR" or "storygame" means you're down the rabbithole. Most RPGers categorise entirely by a combination of setting and complexity.

This is a superb image. The size of the set is really bought into scale and the detail is quite excellent. The size of the area is a little lost in the shadows and the close-ups in the movie but you still get a sense of the size of the chamber.

in Paris, I had to see a same-day doctor & I found one. was gravely warned that, as a foreigner, I’d have to pay 32 euros & I laughed & laughed

a friend there said “make sure you get X kind of doctor, not Y, because the Y kind charges 74 WHOLE EUROS” & once again I bitterly, bitterly laughed 😭
My ACA current plan is going from $385/mo to $821/mo.
