The Piper ~ Korean Version of a Popular German Fairy Tale
“The Piper” is a 2015 Korean drama film, categorized as Horror, Fantasy, Thriller, and Suspense, based on a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, and streaming on Viki. Memorable Quotes: “Crimes committed for survival will be forgiven.” “Scores must be settled.” SUMMARY: A widower has an ailing son. A Yankee doctor said he could cure him if he brought the boy to Seoul. On their way to the city, the man and his son stopped and asked for food and shelter in a small village. The townspeople seemed friendly and harmless. Too bad he didn’t know what they were really like. ♦ A Shaman’s Curse: A Visitor Will Come. In “The Piper”, Woo-Ryong and his son, Young-Nam, are on their way to Seoul with high hopes. Young-Nam has tuberculosis, and a Yankee doctor said he can be cured. On their way, they stop at a small village and ask if they can stay there for one or two days. The Village Head agrees to let them stay. During a private conversation, Woo-Ryong told the Village Head that the Korean War was over. The Village Head made him promise not to tell the villagers. They came to that location during the […] The post The Piper ~ Korean Version of a Popular German Fairy Tale appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

GOT Spinoff ‘A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms’ Releases Teaser Trailer
It was around the second season of House Of The Dragon that some people started asking: “why are these stories always about royalty and no one else?” The answer is right in the title. It’s a Game of THRONES. It’s what you signed up for. But still, surely something interesting must be going on among the peasantry, right? The coming spinoff A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms answers that question. It takes place far from any torch-lit castle or drawbridge. It’s star isn’t a king or a prince, but Duncan the Tall, a former squire who suddenly graduates into a knight after the passing of his mentor. Now HE needs a squire, as per the rules, and that’s when a weird little bald kid enters his life. They call him Egg because…well, he looks like one. GRRM’s stories about the knight and the squire are called the “Dunk and Egg” stories. The first of these, The Hedge Knight: The Tourney at the Ashford Meadow, will be adapted into the first season of A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms. Dunk and Egg are some of the author’s most interesting characters and this teaser suggests they translate to television pretty well. Game Master’s Deck of Wild Magic and Mischief Review: Chaos, Creativity, and Card-Based Mayhem
The Game Master’s Deck of Wild Magic and Mischief, designed by Will Earl with artwork by Tim Foley, is a bold addition to the growing library of system-agnostic tabletop RPG tools. At its core, this 40-card deck introduces random, chaotic effects into campaigns, echoing the spirit of the infamous Deck of Many Things while offering more manageable, session-friendly unpredictability. Rather than overwhelming play with catastrophic shifts, the deck encourages flexible use: DMs can pull cards for critical hits, fumbles, narrative twists, or world-altering events. Each card balances environmental effects, player-facing boons, and drawbacks, ensuring that the chaos enhances storytelling rather than derails it. Artwork and Presentation The first impression comes from the Tarot-inspired presentation. The cards arrive in a sturdy case with an accompanying 88-page booklet. Mario And Wario (And Bubsy) Join Nintendo Switch Online
Did you know there was a Mario game for the SNES that never left Japan? It was called Mario & Wario, and it was developed by Game Freak of Pokemon fame. Until today, it had never been officially released in this country. What was up with that? …Well, it required the SNES Mouse. Those precise controls probably kept it from store shelves, even though we’re sure Nintendo could have reconfigured it to work with a traditional controller (you know Nintendo, they just didn’t WANT TO). But now with the arrival of the Switch 2 and its Joy-Con mouse function, it’s possible to release games from the vault that couldn’t be released before…like Mario Paint, or this. Even though both Mario and Wario’s names are in the title, you can’t play as either. Instead you are guiding a fairy named Wanda as Mario wanders around aimlessly with a bucket over his head. Don’t ask why Mario can’t just take the bucket off. He can’t, okay? Action puzzles abound in this title released only in Japan for the Super Famicom™ system in 1993. Wario has dropped a bucket on poor Mario’s head, and now he can’t see! So it’s up to you […] The post Mario And Wario (And Bubsy) Join Nintendo Switch Online appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

Special Preview Of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla
Last summer IDW announced a crossover between the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Godzilla, which is only the latest in a line of such crossovers, but has the potential to be the biggest (literally). The first issue will be released in November, but IDW just sent us a preview of the first five pages, as well as some never-before-seen variant covers. Also, we just found out why the TMNT are meeting Godzilla. This comic takes place in an alternate world where the origin of the Foot Clan can be directly traced to kaiju. Whatever their purpose originally was, the Shredder has now taken control, and plans to use the kaiju to create a new mutagen…imagine a fifty-foot-tall, fire-breathing Super Shredder. You can see now why the Turtles would need to get Godzilla on the phone. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla is being scripted by Tim Seeley, creator of Cassie Hack (there’s another character the TMNT need to meet) and illustrated by Fero Pe, who’s drawn a lot of these crossovers. Start scrolling to see what it all looks like… That’s how the first issue begins, but there’s already art being developed for the THIRD issue. Here’s the striking cover IDW […] The post Special Preview Of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Godzilla appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.

Superman To Meet Spider-Man In Official Team-Up
The next time you’re playing with your figures on the playground and some other kid comes up to you and calls you a bozo for putting Spider-Man and Superman on the same team, you can tell him he’s the REAL bozo because it’s actually happening, so THERE. Since Spider-Man is the big mascot character for Marvel Comics, and Superman is the big mascot character for DC comics, it didn’t seem like a crossover was likely anytime soon, given the statuses of both companies as under the ownership of big rival movie studios. Back in the mid-70s, it was different. Fifty years ago, a more small-time Marvel and DC put aside their rivalry to produce Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man: The Battle of the Century in 1976. Recently, somehow, inter-company crossovers have become cool again. The two gigantic team-ups between the Marvel and DC universes were both reprinted, and just recently Batman met Deadpool in a two-part crossover that was first published by Marvel last month and soon by DC next month. But that won’t be all…the big one is happening in 2026. That’s when DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1 will hit the stands in March, followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man/Superman #1 in April. Remembering YEN CHENG-KUO: From Child Star to Redeemed Director, a Life Cut Short at 50
The Taiwanese film world is in mourning following the sudden passing of Yen Cheng-Kuo (顏正國), the beloved child actor who captivated audiences as the plucky “A-Kuo” in the 1980s Kung-Fu Kids (好小子) series. Yen died on October 7, 2025, at 4:57 p.m. at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital in New Taipei City’s Banqiao District, succumbing to stage 4 lung adenocarcinoma after being removed from life support. He was just 50 years old, three days shy of his 51st birthday on October 10. Funeral director and social media influencer Juan Chiao-pen (阮橋本), known as “Steel Dad,” announced the news on Facebook, conveying the family’s profound grief while requesting privacy during this difficult time. Yen Cheng-kuo’s passing has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans, filmmakers, and industry veterans who witnessed his evolution from a wide-eyed child star to a resilient artist. Predicted Technology of Science Fiction That We Now Have in Present Day
Predicted Technology from old  Sci-Fi films can be fascinating as Yesterday’s fantasy could be today’s fantasy. Pop culture has a long history of being annoyingly accurate. What once seemed laughably futuristic—wristwatches that make calls, talking cars, tablets, or digital actors—has slowly crept into our daily lives. Some predictions were practical, others were warnings about human laziness, and a few were just plain hilarious. Let’s dive into classic sci-fi and TV shows that predicted technology we now use (and love, or fear), complete with plot details because context is everything. 1. Wristwatch Communicator – Dick Tracy Was Basically a Prophet Way back in the 1940s, detective Dick Tracy was a man of impeccable suits and even better gadgets. Among his tools was a wristwatch communicator. Tracy could call his team instantly while chasing criminals through the streets, making him look cooler than anyone else in comics. At the time, this was pure fantasy. Fast-forward decades, and smartwatches now perform all these tasks—and more. They can make calls, send texts, track your heart rate, monitor steps, and even judge you silently when you skip workouts. Some of us love the convenience; others, especially those with poor eyesight, stare at the tiny screens […] The post Predicted Technology of Science Fiction That We Now Have in Present Day appeared first on PopGeeks.com Forum | Indie Games, Movies, TV, Tabletop & Comics.
