Two former Wells Fargo executives were fined $8.5M by the Biden administration for covering up the bank's infamous fake account scandal.

Trump just slashed those fines to a paltry $150,000 after Wells Fargo gave $1M to his inauguration.

See how this works?

Harris Fight Fund, there are at least 100 better ways you could have said this.Using ‘third world’ as shorthand for corruption or dysfunction isn’t just outdated — it’s disrespectful to millions. Poverty and instability are not moral failings.

If President Trump views cartel activity as an attack on the U.S., he may use a broad interpretation of the “unwilling or unable” doctrine to justify military action on Mexican soil. J. Luis Rodriguez looks at how the invocation of this doctrine would endanger the U.S.'s long-term national security.

I want to take a moment to share an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence's grievances against King George III.

Remind you of anyone?

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.

Interesting that current Administration believes educating women is "wasted funds." We'll continue to see this impact for years, even if there is a rebuilding of USAID in the future, even small disruptions so far are significant.

A move out of the Fascism playbook, which will hopefully motivate major news outlets to start reporting the news boldly and accurately, not hedging their stories and headlines, and to stop labeling any reporting critical of the administration as 'Opinion.'

When Trump was sworn in, Elon Musk's corporations were under more than 32 investigations conducted by at least 11 federal agencies.

Most of the cases are now closed or likely to be closed soon, and the federal agencies are being defanged by DOGE.

Funny how that works, huh?

Elon Musk has ZERO receipts for his claims of “fraud” in government agencies.

But there seem to be a LOT of receipts showing that those same government agencies were investigating or regulating Musk and his companies.

Just a reminder, in FY 2024 #USAID funding made up 0.6% of the total U.S. Federal budget, not a large price to pay for #globalhealthsecurity, fighting #extremepoverty, and increasing #nationalsecurity.

Also, not an amount that is going to reform U.S. spending in any tangible way.
