Been doing cool stuff with cool people. It’s been awesome to keep growing as an organizer and watch people who showed up wide eyed becoming organizers in their own right. I’m such a proud mom. #atlantasky

Democrats have long viewed (and reified) different minorities as interest groups unto themselves to hoover up through multicultural appeals and basically have no serious socioeconomic ambition.

I just love how many liberals are out here attacking Graham Planter with no self awareness. Like accidentally getting an obscure Nazi tattoo while drunk? Unforgivable. Supporting Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians? Well, we all *counts AIPAC money* make mistakes.

SUSAN 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.
Ezra Klein keeps saying that "politics is about winning power" and Democrats have "gotten way out of step with the public" on immigration and trans kids in sports but he is blind to the fact that to win power you have to convince people you have the right position, not cede to the other side

If we want more people to participate in the labor force, we need to offer better jobs

Jobs with higher wages, better benefits, & better working conditions can draw both men & women into the labor force, says EPI's @elisegould.bsky.social & @hilwething.bsky.social:

Job quality is a policy decision: Better jobs can spur higher labor force participation for both men and women
Although there have been tremendous strides toward gender equity over the last few generations, it remains the fact that women and men tend to work in different types of jobs. The differences have nar...

Well said.
I've been thinking about that Klein and Ta-Nehisi Coates convo. Specifically, how Klein kept saying that Coate's pragmatism in positioning his work in line with those who came before him fighting for rights they knew were unlikely to come to fruition in their lifetimes was depressing /1

We are edging close to an argument that all left public figures need to think like political strategists first, constantly measuring the impact of their work on the Democratic Party's electoral prospects. We saw that frame used against racial justice protesters in 2020-22; Gaza protesters in 2024.
Everyone, as Coates acknowledges, thinks that politicians need to win more voters. Obama and Harris can't sound like Coates. Coates agrees! But Klein argues that political culture (so the writing of people like Coates) shapes politicians and hints Coates should be mindful of that.
This was revealing. Worth reading. The basic demand is that Coates spend less time thinking/writing his true feelings and more time playing political strategist. Klein asks him over and over him to do Dem strategy; he says no, over and over. www.nytimes.com/2025/09/28/o...
