Happy #WorldHippoDay! 🦛❤️

To celebrate here’s a lovely naturalistic painting of a hippo on a small flake of limestone. Painted by an Egyptian artist some 3,500 years ago!

Peter Oborne succinctly sums up the Papers, "I try not to read mainstream newspapers these days. The reporting is bent, the opinion columns deranged, and you almost never learn anything new or worthwhile."
If only the BBC's Today programme did not give them airtime thus helping set the day's agenda.

Good to see @zackpolanski.bsky.social asked about this. He’s right on this, of course.

So much of my time (and camera roll) is taken up by reporting flytipping.

It is a symptom of an ill society, and we need long-term thinking and a real commitment to reducing waste & increasing recycling.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social is asked, how would you tackle the scourge of fly tipping?
