At year end, the dividing line in politics today is defined by dignity. Dignity is something that can't be taken away. It can only be surrendered voluntarily. We saw the most powerful business leaders willing to surrender dignity while everyday Americans stood tall.

I have a Christmas Eve tradition. Every year I set my alarm for 3 AM so I can drive up to St. Marks for sunrise. And then I sleep through my alarm and go somewhere local at a more reasonable hour. But today I was actually awake at 3 AM, so I said, "I guess I gotta do this, huh?"
