Oh, luck you have found me today, I am grateful, I've been missing you. A perfect seat of moss and bark reveals itself in the glance of an eye at the base of wonderful you, most charming fir. I step up, settle in and gasp at the water view that you have framed beautifully with your evergreen boughs...there are diamonds on the still blue/green water gifted to us by a sunbeam..I may stay a while.

standing in salal I breath in the fresh morning air making time to notice how the breaking dawn filters through the tall moss covered trees. A golden glow, beams like songs - pinch, 'is this moment real?' While the world bustles & busies I grasp the sight of sun catching the dewy moss, the treetops bathed in light & cradled by the blue sky, distant birdsong welcoming the morn. Oh, how I wish everyone could stand in this fleeting moment & know there are healing times that we hurry past.

Not a soul in sight all the way down the beach! A crooked time worn wooden log fence leaning sideways & held together with heavy wire shows us the way as we head down the sand and around the corner. A distant mountain range lines the background on this sunny day. A few telephone poles stand on the road above the beach connecting the landline folks. This structure has seen better days yet continues to do its job against the rising tides

Oh little tree...I know you've seen better days but if you could see yourself the way I do...The sun hitting your moss covered limbs causes you to appear angelic in a sense...how did you know I needed an angel. I love this hour when the day descends. The quietening of boisterous activity, a blanket of hush offers be still. Standing on this ragged edge of bedrock ,watching the sun behind the clouds making it's way into the ocean, there is peace in this moment. I'm right here! Beam me up!!! How lucky these moss covered trees are finding themselves in the path of light. Grateful ferns and ivy absorb the lights essence breathing in, breathing out. there is a quiet here like no other. a seemingly endless forest path bordered by the strength of old growth. gratefully, the fog dims the distractions from this noisy world. a few cheeky wood fences doing pretty much nothing add a question to the stroll we take on this day. we head into the mist with a promise to lift not only our spirits but also the way we look at things. the hint of blue hovering at the treetops looks enticing...

'Why me?' wondered the little mossy tree set aglow by a distant sun. 'Who am I to deserve such light on this foggy morn?" the heaviness of it's green velvet coat shimmering with warmth, renewal. 'I must be the luckiest tree in the whole forest' surmised the tree all the while unaware that the other surrounding trees were covered in light too. The skinny little tree, nestled in the comfort of it's fern grove, claimed the moment and with a sigh, basked.

Walk with me down this wide dirt trail partially bathed in winter sun. We can hug a tree or two along the way...they're always grateful for that!
