The beautiful thing about Musk’s “Epstein files” tweet is that it makes him look as bad as Trump. “I had no problem working with and covering for a pedophile until I didn’t get what I want.”

Does this count? I have a measure on my hand for tracking. It's a bit art-deficient, but useful! (Imperial measurements though, so sorry.)

Here's one example: if you think it's good to have new treatments for cancer, and you are competent enough to understand that the profit motive will never fund basic research into these areas, then you know why RFK Jr. gutting HHS is going to devastate health progress for the entire world.
I honestly don’t think Americans understand how much their day to day lives depend on federal civil servants and now is the time for professional commentators to write op-eds explaining

When we found this insect I said, "oh my gosh, it's the most amazing thing I have ever seen!" It's a phenomenal dead leaf mantis. I love her eyes, purple with flecks of white. Leaf mimicry is fairly common in insects, helping them hide from predators and prey.

the turkey 'pardon' implies that turkeys have, by virtue of their very existence, committed a sin worthy of capital punishment. this is of course theological nonsense because there are no intrinsically evil birds, except for swans.

I watch PBS’s Nova religiously and learned last night that Oxford has developed a new vaccine for malaria that has 70-80% efficacy and it just got approved by the WHO and will save millions of lives in the years to come. Sharing some good news bc it tends to get lost out there.

*puts on glasses* technically, all toads are frogs, so they're also covered.

("True toads", the Bufonidae, are part of the frog family, and some are colloquially called "frogs". Some "toads" are not "true toads". And then there's Pseudobufo, the false toad, which is a true toad.)

TIL that there are moths that froth! This is Amerila astreus, found in India, Sri Lanka and New Guinea. Some species in this "frother" genus release bubbly secretions from glands near their eyes; the sizzling sound warns off predators. 📷 by budak https://uk.inaturalist.org/taxa/126085-Amerila 🧪

one would think that with the end of affirmative action in college admissions we’ll finally also see the end of people blaming black students for why they didn’t get into their preferred university, but i suspect that will continue all the same.
