Cofounder of helpful.

I get the snowballs rolling down the hills.

I'm capping the # of people I'm following here to 101 to ensure unbelievably high signal.

I mostly talk about startups, Midwest, and a 🤏 of politics that I think is under-discussed.

“For years, conservatives loudly complained that government spending was opaque, that their hard-earned dollars were being secretly misused, and that the government definitely did not need all the money it was taking from them.

That was always hyperbole … until now.”

And Senate Republicans are about to confirm him to a life appointment on a federal appeals court.

Democrats must ask: What’s a proportional response to Trump’s heinous corruption of the federal judiciary? Doing nothing means letting Bove and his ilk rule us for the next 40 years. I don’t accept it.
Emil Bove misled lawmakers in his confirmation hearings for a federal judgeship when he denied targeting prosecutors who refused to go along with his dismissal of corruption charges against New York Mayor Eric Adams.

The details from a whistleblower complaint emerged hours before a final vote on Bove’s nomination to a federal judgeship.

Has any new startup come along that replaces the "here's an email with intel on the next person you're meeting with in your calendar" void left by Charlie App (pivoted away) and Accompany (acq and killed by Cisco)?

Like I've said before, if you have any doubts about climate change, just go to a super-boring insurance conference and listen to the super-boring panels where they dryly talk about the growing threat of disasters so catastrophic and unpredictable in scope they simply cannot be insured at any price.
Wild how the Fed chair saying that *entire regions of the United States* won’t be able to get a mortgage in the next decade barely registered as a news event

I am going to keep saying this until I am blue in the face: if we survive all this, and that’s a non-trivial if right now, it will take a generation to fix the damage.

By that point, China will have surpassed us.

Ten years of Trump going on TV and just fucking saying whatever, and still nothing like an industry set of best practices to deal with it. Put someone on the set with a laptop to look stuff up, pause the interview, whatever. He'd walk off but so what. Amazing to still be at "agree to disagree."

just like the term witch hunt.

anyone that uses it you should assume is just repeating political talking points and is not using any critical thinking whatsoever.

I'm sure it's fantastic for big enterprise.

But holy hell is it a terrible process for teams < 5.

Stripe is supposed to be known for their high bar in creating product, but as someone that has used ~ 12 invoicing products, their invoicing product is downright lousy.

It would never be able to compete in the marketplace if it were on its own.
