I made this deli style tortellini salad with items from the fridge. Celery, onion, carrot, mushroom, green olives, parsley, Pecorino Romano and creamy Italian dressing. Marinating for a few hours before dinner. 🍽️

My mother’s comals. In a few weeks it will be two years since she died. I keep one of them on the stove daily in honor of her. She primarily used her comal to toast bread as she was not interested in having a toaster. I can easily remember the smell of bread toasting on her stove. 🍽️🍜

Teenage me was there and other than enjoying a great triple bill of David Johansen, The Clash, and The Who, I made some cash using my familiarity with Shea Stadium by asking obviously unfamiliar people to show me their ticket & then taking them to their seat before the show started.
