Dusk’s debut album Majestic Thou In Ruin was released in 1995 and saw the band severing themselves from the straight death metal of their previous EP to move in a more doom direction. The beauty of nature sounds in this song give way to the band’s intimidating musical force.

I just got done tussling with an establishment Dem about Kat. Sadly, he sounded like this. Blue MAGA is real. It’s time to throw them out with the GOP.

Lisa Germano’s Geek The Girl was released in 1994 and was her biggest-selling album. She sang about very intense and dark subjects that seemed even more so given her soft and whispery delivery. It connected deeply to those sensitive souls who didn’t want to scream to be heard.

Kat Abughazaleh throwing out yet another top-notch ad. It certainly stands out from the boring, almost interchangeable ones I’ve seen so far from every other politician in every other race going on this year.
We’re airing a new campaign ad, starting tomorrow.

Here it is:

Anti-Cimex’s Scandivian Jawbreaker was released in 1993 and made them punk legends in their home country of Sweden. While virtually unknown in America, these guys pack a powerful punch on par with the best in the West.

Guided By Voices’ Propeller was released in 1992 and was almost their last one. They had spent several years toiling without much notice or acclaim, racking up heavy debt in the process. They agreed to make one more album and call it quits. It was a hit and they are still here.

Teenage Fanclub’s Bandwagonesque was released in 1991. The group’s fourth album finally saw them punching through the American market where those too late to experience Big Star found a killer replacement, if only for a moment, as subsequent albums would never chart so high.

Pantera’s Cowboys From Hell was released in 1990 and was not only their major label debut, it also marks the debut of their groove metal style after four previous albums of trendy hair metal that found them treading water. They dropped trying to be popular and it worked.

Negativland’s Helter Stupid was released in 1989 as a concept album, answering the media coverage given their previous album in being the cause of David Brom murdering his family in Minnesota. It also addressed other allegedly music-related murders and suicides.

Lucinda Williams’ self-titled album was released in 1988. While her greatest success would come a decade later, this is the album that pricked up the public’s ears, marking her as a force to be reckoned with, using simple lyrics to powerfully dissect complex relationships.

Sarcofago’s debut album I.N.R.I. was originally self-released in 1987 and became a death metal classic that influenced many, especially in the Nordic scene, for it’s highly aggressive sound and drummer Eduardo’s heavy reliance on blast beats.

Van Morrison’s No Guru, No Method, No Teacher was released in 1986 and considered a comeback of sorts, as his previous three albums failed to impress critics or consumers. This is a combined reworking of Them’s “Here Comes the Night” and W.B. Yeats’ poem “Under Ben Bulben.”

Peter and the Test Tube Babies’ The Mating Sounds of South American Frogs was released in 1983 and was dismissed as dunderheaded punk pillaging the same three chords over and over again, completely missing the messages buried within, such as this anti-junk food screed.
