One thing that's been heavily proven to me is Bluesky is not all politics. The music, record, cd, movie, books, horror and lots more scenes are heavily alive and well here with almost zero negativity. Better engagement here than Facebook has been in years.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the GoFundMe to raise money for Groundskeeper Carl's rabies shots. Good news, the bat tested negative. Bad news, Carl had a blood alcohol level of 2.8 which is a parole violation and we used the money to get him a lawyer.

I'm sad. I feel awful for Charlie Kirk's poor kids. That's a trauma they didn't earn that will live with them forever. And I'm sad about a further episode of political violence in this country. It didn't start with Kirk. I wish there were a way for it to end with him, but I fear there is not.

Watched Thursday Murder Club on Netflix. They had to drop a lot of side plots and characters to fit it into a single movie. I'd have preferred a miniseries. But the casting was delightful, and I overall enjoyed it, just not quite as much as the book.

There was a long red streak on the floor - clearly some paint or something had been rubbed off as a heavy container was dragged through the aisles.
A small girl (4 or 5?) shouted loudly to her mother as I went by. "Mom, hurry! I'm following the trail of blood!"

Growing up as a kid in the 80s, I was very familiar with the song "Oh Yeah" by Yello. But I had never, until today, seen the video. And now I'm wondering how I missed this insanity at the time.

Like many, I'm struggling with how I feel about celebrating this 4th of July. But I was reminded today that you can be really furious at your government and still know that there is a lot to love and fight for in the country. Anyway, I saw this display today and thought it was a good thing to share.

I passed a section of road being maintained but the Christmas Law Firm. I'm sure this is just the owner's last name, but I love the idea that they're a firm that handles only Christmas-related cases. This could be the setting for a very silly movie.
