I found out that unfortunately she passed yesterday afternoon. I’m heartbroken. Thanks for being an excellent friend, Sherri. You are so loved.
My friend recently entered hospice at home and I am spinning a bit. I thought we would have more time. We were just texting this past weekend and now she’s very weak. It’s hard.

why is it that my decision to refuse generative AI personally & professionally is framed as me allowing my personal ethics and morals to bias my work as a librarian but the technofascists prioritizing their personal (lack of) ethics and morals for professional and personal profit not a problem?!?!?!

I’m gonna name it. This isn’t a case of “legitimately differing opinions.” It is blatant professorial malpractice to adopt/allow genAI (or really *any* new edtech) just b/c we are told that we must. Especially in the humanities classroom, the only “ethical use” or reasonable stance is to keep it out

PSA if you have a 9-12 age kid…our pediatrician recommended getting HPV vaccine this year rather than wait because insurance companies promised to cover the vaccine at least through 2026 but no guarantee after & it’s one of the more expensive vaccines. It’s a two-shot series 6 months apart.
