Pretty sure my 13 year old lady doggo had a moment of senility today and barked her head off at …nothing? She was so upset and shaking and there was no one around. It’s my busiest week of the semester and I really can’t afford to fall apart. Please send us all the calm, happy old dog vibes.

Rookie mistake! I dressed for 55 degree weather (the temp at home), but it was more like 45 degrees and foggy for the bulk of my ride. Frickin microclimates!

Ah yes, and there are entire intersections with those damn signs on EVERY corner. Like this gem in Encinitas on Santa Fe and Regal near the 5. You have to click on the images in order to see the signs. Less than a mile from the beach and as hostile as it gets.

The world is intense right now! One thing I do to counter all the 💩is to sit outside and watch the trees and birds. Bluebirds are one of my favorites and one came to visit.

I was so anxious for this trip but it has been incredible. It’s a good reminder that we should all embrace being uncomfortable from time to time and continue to try new things.

Life doesn’t always go as planned. My mom took a tumble a week ago and broke her hip. She’s in a rehab hospital now, and I’m in Utah doing my week for caretaking. The drive was a marathon, but the family and the mountains are stunning.

Coping skills when visiting family: keep your allies close, stay hydrated, establish code words, and stay in a fab inn with a hot tub. Utah for mom’s 80th is a wrap! Thank you, Mapleton/Springville! First time in 30 years all 6 kids and mom have been together.

The hawks on campus have been very active lately. This little buddy was hunting right outside the library! 🤩 Looks to me more like an American Goshawk rather than a Cooper’s Hawk, but I’m no expert.

The news today was rather bleak, so I am sharing two of the sweetest girls. Best sun dogs enjoying this world knowing they are loved. Take good care of yourself and each other.
