People already working hard to prove how perfect Alex Pretti was. To show he didn't "deserve" to be killed. But it's a trap folks. You're only feeding into a dynamic where people who are considered lesser get no protection. You don't have to be an Alex Pretti to deserve to live.

The US has officially left the World Health Organization.

The damage that has been done in the past year to our health institutions will take years to rebuild, if we get the opportunity to do so.

Even after Trump is gone, the world will remember that he threatened to forcibly seize the territory of a peaceful democratic ally, and our institutions failed to immediately remove him. That makes US dangerously unreliable, not just one senile gangster.
His not being impeached by the end of the business day as a result of this threat is as much a problem as the threat itself. It’s not just Trump that the world has to worry about, it’s a GOP that supports him and Democrats who suck their thumbs and refuse to even discuss pushing to remove him

I continue to believe that one of the things that fuels this “no protests” myth is that the US is a massive and sparsely populated nation that can’t continuously and consistently converge on one central city the way, say, the French can.
I remember how I was asked, live on German television, a mere 48 hours after No Kings II: “Why are there no protests?” And three months later, as the people of Minneapolis are standing in solidarity against the outrageous occupation of their city, I’m still getting that question in most interviews.

A good question to ask if you think “but why would government officials lie about Covid??” is can you think of any other topics on which they have lied or delayed necessary action? Like AIDS, perhaps. Or climate change. Or weapons of mass destruction. Or the Bay of Tonkin. Or the president’s health.
If you've stopped masking, it's not too late to start again. Remember: the ruling class who help trash our planet with fossil fuels, making pandemics & zoonotic spillover more likely, want us to believe Covid is over

Too much of my life right now is at the whim of capricious, vindictive, selfish, shitty people in the twilight years of their lives who seem determined to make themselves the main characters to the bitter end. Anyway, maybe tomorrow.

“Hypernormalization describes a state where a false, simplified, or surreal version of reality becomes so accepted as normal that people lose the ability or will to challenge it, even when aware of its untruth, often due to systemic inertia or lack of alternatives.”

Blender shading and filter experimentation. Followed a Lana Easteregg tutorial for the first scene, then tried some pixel filters for the second one. For the last one I had to download an older Blender and replace the materials with color ramps. Why is it hard to get sharper pixels in 5.0 😵‍💫

A hundred thousand people on average still die annually and thousands more become disabled or have a lowered quality of life from Covid-19 complications. Easier said than done but the only way to prevent this is to avoid infections.

If antivaxxers will not learn from medical professionals, experts, or history, then viruses and bacteria will educate them instead. I feel awful for children who did not have a choice in their death or injury.
