really honored to contribute something to this and further honored that Diego graciously let me be a bit personal with it.

mine's the last one, so you better read all 90 of the others before you even look at mine. what an incredible roster of talent to be published with.

this was an immeasurable effort from everyone involved. the list is packed with calls to action and donation funds. folks wrote about anything from games to movies and books. we didn’t include anything published or developed by microsoft, and avoided games with gen ai like the plague

2025 was brutal for games media, but I'm seeing some glimmers of hope as worker-owned sites like @aftermath.site, @rascal.news, and @giantbomb.bsky.social have carved out vital spaces in the games community.

Earlier this year, I made a huge Indie Games Media starter pack for y'all. Let's celebrate.

Random question for bluesky game folks! Do we know anyone who was at Konami America back in the SNES-ish era? I’m trying to find the folks who wrote their manuals and am coming up empty. Any leads?

December is a hard time of year for many and you just interacting and sharing someone’s art can help. Lets them know they are doing good stuff and to keep going. It’s nice to have your art received well so just be chill and say “grate art” on them comments.

I've had people ask me before about how you go about covering or awarding things that have an uncomfortable ethical component. My advice is always, all that matters is that you're consistent. Define the line and stick to it. Props to IGA for deciding what the line is for them and making a hard call.
The IGAs Nomination Committee is officially retracting Debut Game and Game of the Year, awarding both categories to new recipients. Additionally, we are retracting one of the Indie Vanguard recipients.
