Finally finished a mending project I’ve been stuck on all month. This free tote bag I got in 2020 immediately became a favourite for grocery runs. After 4ish years of use, I needed to 1) darn some holes, 2) add a panel to the bottom, and 3) make shorter handles.

A tiny bit of swiss darning to fix a pair of fleecy sweatpants. 60% of the way through I realized that dark grey would have been a better choice than white. Oops.
This is part of my winter biking base layer collection, which I think will be back in action sooner rather than later…

The SUP that was installed on the west side of 97 St between 167 and 160 Ave as part of Lorelei-Beaumaris neighbourhood renewal is already cracking in some places. It's only been 4 years! :(

Watching live baseball on tv for the first time in my life today and thinking I should give it up and go back to watching highlights the next day
"Oh yeah? You like baseball? What if I make you smoke *an entire pack* of baseball?"

one simple fix here is to make a world that you'd actually want to bring a child into, and put everyone who says that doing so would be expensive and unrealistic into an individually-sized tupperware® container
Family size around the world is dropping. That choice by couples is triggering a population shift that's sending shock waves through economies.
People are having fewer kids. Their choice is transforming the world's economy

The latest item to graduate from my alterations pile is a knitted turtleneck dickey/bib that I bought for winter bicycling. It’s drapey to the point of sagginess (because superwash wool), so it wasn’t great at keeping my neck warm. I inserted 5 rounds of elastic thread and now it’s perfect.

Yet again I am trying and failing to find a bike rack (via streetview) that I can use on my trip later this week. A bike shop being located beside a bike lane but having no bike rack just doesn’t make sense. I think the message being sent is that cyclists aren’t actually supposed to use 82 St.

Ah, I forgot to look at the time when arriving and leaving my polling place but I got through 5 or 6 rnds of sock knitting while waiting in line for ballots, so… close to 20 mins? Not very long but I’m sure that’s the longest election day* wait I’ve ever experienced

Question for candidates: is it embarrassing to go to the polls to vote for yourself? How does it feel if the poll workers recognize you? 😳

When people mock millennial style I am never bothered because surely you don’t mean me! 2010s Black hipster fashion is something I will always look back on fondly, with 0% cringe. IMO this wasn’t just Peak Fashion but also Peak Hair (and makeup)
okay i’m kind of obsessing, going thru 2011 tumblr archives, but is there a name for this aesthetic? i just remember looking up to girls dressed like this - the way this felt like PEAK fashion to me - i lived for an afro punk fit from this era 🥰

My one-sided beef with the ready-to-wear clothing industry continues. You wouldn’t think that someone who’s less than 5’6” should have to buy tall sizes. And yet >:(

I finally remembered that I can sew, so now my too-short pyjama sleeves have turn-up cuffs. 😌 And it only took [mumbling] years for me to get annoyed enough to make this fix.
Don’t mind the basting threads, I got too excited about posting. #garmentsewing

I just helped some family members book their seasonal immunization appointments online and I have some questions, beginning with: why does the appointment booking change every year? Why is it a different process on a different website every time?

Might have seen a driver in the French Quarter abruptly pull over on the wrong side of the street for a chance to talk to Andrew Knack this afternoon. I was like, “What the hell does this guy think they’re doing? Oh, they’re talking to someone, maybe picking someone up. Wait, Andrew Knack??!?”

This week l've been thinking a lot about how Danielle Smith said it's fine, everything's totally fine, Alberta can easily sell the excess not-Tylenol to the US
President Trump said he will put import taxes of 100% on pharmaceutical drugs, 50% on kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, 30% on upholstered furniture and 25% on heavy trucks starting on Oct. 1.

Such thrilling weather we had this evening. Unless, of course, you are a cyclist with sensitive ear drums. 🙃
