In the 60s I received a less effective version of the measles vaccine. Twice. I contracted measles in 1977. I was out of school for 6 weeks. Which as a kid sounds great except for the fact that I was fucking sick. No TV, no books, just sick. Why people would let their kids get this is mind boggling.

For those keeping up with my body’s escapades of this first fun weekend of 2026…everything seems fine…except my gut. It’s getting back to good but I had a normal meal yesterday and it did not approve. I’m back to a BRAT diet augmented with soup. This year is kicking off swimmingly.

Just finished season 1 of Hijack and now I have to wait till Jan 14th for Apple to start releasing season 2. It’s so gripping I couldn’t knit while watching. So at least I’ll be able to get back to that in the meantime.

As some of you may know, I have heart disease. I’m coming up on the 8th anniversary of my bypass surgery. Welp, had a little scare with a tiny bit of chest pain tonight. Took some nitro, checked my bp, and everything seems fine. Except for the nitro headache I now have. Sigh.
