I keep the receipts.
A reminder: Asylum seekers are in hotels because of a huge application backlog that the gov't must work through. Robert Jenrick - now, bursting with creative solutions - processed applications slowly ***on purpose*** as a deterrent.

Here he is, as Immigration Minister two years ago, saying so. ~AA

*Every* single time a politician uses the phrase "Jumping the queue" with respect to migrants as James Cleverly has just done they should immediately be asked "What queue?" and the journalist should insist on the details of how people can join this queue.

Asylum-seekers get £49 a week loaded onto a pre-paid card if they're not in catered accommodation. They get £10 if they are. And yet nearly a third of voters think government spending helps 'immigrants' **most of all**. Insane and frightening.

On the London Overground. I’ve just asked a young guy playing loud music out of his phone to turn his music down. He asked stroppily why he should. I said because it was uncivilised.
He then turned it off and said “yeah, that’s fair”

The Telegraph today carries a news story about someone paying £7.4 million for a handbag (Hello, Lady Bracknell!). And an opinion piece describing a wealth tax as a ‘moral abomination’. What a time to be alive.

Britain *is* broken.

Brexit broke Britain.

And Nigel Farage is benefitting from the wreckage.

This was always my greatest fear with Brexit - that it would bring about stagnant conditions that favour extreme populism.

Much like drug addiction causes crashes that make the drug more seductive.

I fear they're becoming a mouthpiece for Nigel Farage, a guy who wants to destroy them.

She doesn’t breathe like we do! She uses spiracles (tiny holes along her sides) to pull in air. How cool is that?! 😁 #facts #prayingmantis
