There are places where algorithms can do good work (do you want to manually remove every crackle or pop in an audio clip?), but the AI-first mentality sees every inconvenience as some excess of gruntwork while missing the million tiny creative decisions that happen in the processes they replace.

This is where I say once again that a single $3 million endowment would keep the Cartoon Art Museum of San Francisco running indefinitely and the Bay Area is full of comics-loving nerds for whom that would barely register as a tax writeoff
