College Football: Rivalry Week is Tempting But Let’s Go for the Value - iGaming Player
A subpar week for the Gridiron Guru highlights college football’s chaos and sends him to bet two road underdogs: USC and Pitt, among his three games that offer wagering value and opportunity.

@olbermann.bsky.social @olbermann.bsky.social, I presume you noticed @mlb.com leaving out the last sentence of Vin Scully's iconic call of Hank Aaron's 715th during its tribute:

"A Black man. Is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking the record of a. All-time baseball idol. ..."

When people learn how the Republican budget bill would take from the poor to give to the rich—a reverse Robin Hood—they’re overwhelmingly against it.

But too many people haven’t heard about what a disaster this bill would be for most Americans. Start a conversation with your friends and neighbors

Came to this conclusion during Felon47's first term, simply based on the fanaticism I saw from people I grew up with.

It's gotten worse over the ensuing years. Far worse. I've had a few once-dear friends choose Cheeto Mussolini over four- and five-decade friendships.
I've started to realize that Anne Frank and her family wouldn't have been safe around a lot of people I know and loved and once respected.

That's not something you get over.

Come to think about it, they do bear a resemblance to Scut Farkas and Grover Dill.
It’s nice how they’ve replicated the middle school dynamic of the insecure bully and his sniveling sidekick picking on someone surrounded by a circle of scared little boys who also try to talk shit so the bully doesn’t come after them.

Or as the right calls it, “masculinity.”
GLENN: Why don't you wear a suit? You're at the highest level in this country's office & you refuse to wear a suit. A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the office.

ZELENSKYY: I will wear a costume after this war will finish. Maybe something like yours. Maybe something better.

Which I've been saying for, well, years.

Used to teach college journalism. One of the things I'd tell my Intro students was the elemental concept of journalism.

If I say it's raining and Chris over there says it's not raining, your job is to go over to the fucking window and see if it's raining.
The level of failure of the political press right now is going to be studied in literal history books for years

A sane country.

If they want to annex the West Coast, we're ready. I've memorized "Oh Canada" eons ago. It's a better anthem than ours anyway.

I've had one in me about my adventures substitute teaching at the school district I grew up in 40+ years ago.

My Facebook followers know this as The Sub Chronicles. And I actually have a few chapters written.

But the Crevasse of Celebrity Obsession and Perils of Publisher Apathy stop me.
Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

According to flag protocols, the American flag shall fly at half-staff for 30 days following the death of a president.

That means President Carter left one beautiful Eff-You to Trump... and one more selfless act of service to the country that owes him more than it can repay.
