sabemos, por vários estudos já feitos, que covid longa e sequelas da covid não são raras, mas ainda temos poucas pesquisas revelando esse impacto na população brasileira.

Across all of these markers, across all of these varied staff groups in the NHS, the answer is mostly:

Yes".

Excellent interview by @daniellebeckman.bsky.social and @davidjoffe64.bsky.social on the impacts of COVID on the brain.

We don’t talk about the cognitive impacts of repeat Covid infections enough.

Long term it’s simply not sustainable. We need clean air and good public health education on masks!

I still remember the first time I saw #SARSCoV2 in the brain in the microscope, back in 2021. I was supposed to be looking at brains with Alzheimer, the neuroinflammation is similar. I knew #NeuroCovid was going to be pretty bad. We are just starting to see how much.

Soap & water is best for hand washing.

Alcohol-based sanitizers don't work on non-enveloped viruses.

But soap forms micelles to trap viruses so they can be rinsed away.

I will re-iterate for those up the back:

Refuting BULLSHIT science is a long and laborious task. Obfuscation, arse-covering, Academic protection from large Universities... All of this to have a paper retracted.

I was a signatory, but the credit is to @mark-ungrin.bsky.social. doggedly determined😇
🧵An example of the shenanigans and junk science accepted in medical journals.

In September 2023, JAMA Pediatrics published a ludicrously bad paper (quasi-retracted after much effort) claiming long COVID is "strikingly rare" in kids, supposedly vs the WHO definition.
