Multiple Deans, a professor, and now a university president have all lost their jobs simply because a professor acknowledged trans people exist in a course about young adult literature.

I would be happy if I never heard the name Graham Linehan again, but I do feel the need to comment, because the nature of a lot of the abuse trans people receive is straight up sexual harassment, but is not recognized as such because the victim is trans.
What Glinner is doing is sexual harassment.

The UK supreme court has gutted the legal recognition of trans people. They also recognized the concept of sex based rights which is just absurd. There's no such thing as sex based rights. There is the right to be free from discrimination on the basis of sex.

The UK Supreme Court has unanimously decided that the definition of sex under the Equality Act 2010 refers solely to biological sex, and does not include people with a Gender Recognition Certificate.

I have some additional thoughts about how Oshii's Major, as a degendered weapon, essentially exists outside of prescribed gender roles. ScarJo played generic action girl beholden to the male gaze both within and without the narrative.
Oshii wrote and designed the Major as a philosopher-soldier, emotionally impregnable, one who embraces her own existential crisis and overcomes it through merging with a bodiless being--and through it, frees herself from government ownership.
