People like Trump and Musk are deeply miserable people. Nothing in the world can give them what any human truly needs: meaningful, loving connections with others. Keep that in mind. These people are constructs of deep pathology that makes them weak. We can, and will, overcome these obstacles.

Something I've been doing is focusing on self care. I've been in a dark place these last few weeks, and I've recognized the need to get my mind in the right place. Self care is incredibly important. We can't resist and stand up to autocracy if our mind and body is in shambles.

With all of the horrible news swirling around us constantly, we must remember that this crisis presents an opportunity. This presents an opportunity to come together as individuals, and recognize what matters to us as a society. I believe we can and will overcome this great challenge...

18F was a US government group helping government departments improve their use of technology which got recently wood-chipped. Here's a good overview of their work plus lessons learned: which apply to any large organization.

It's always a great feeling knowing that the co-president of the US is constantly high as fuck off of ketamine. I feel incredibly comfortable knowing that him and his interns have access to all of our most sensitive information, and are just hacking away at our government with a chainsaw.

Folks need to stop calling Trump’s looming refusal to follow the judicial system’s rulings a “constitutional crisis.” That is much too benign. Call it what it is- a dictatorship.

"dei medal" you might as well just put "n*gger medal" because that's what they mean to say
This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position.

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

A reminder in dark times: kindness, mercy, decency, and respect towards the least of us enrages Trumpists. It burns them. It’s like a mirror that shows them how they fall short of humanity.

Kindness and decency towards the people Trumpists hate is not just right; it torments Trumpists.

Just imagine the world we could be living in if the dems actually tried to do everything in their power to convict Trump in his second impeachment trial. Just imagine.
The moment you should have realized who these people were, but apparently did not, was during Trump’s second impeachment, when Senate Dems literally accidentally won a vote to call witnesses and transform the Jan 6 trial into Watergate 2.0… and then reversed it, because they wanted to move on

This is the problem with capitulation as a strategy. Trump and Republicans are bullies. They don’t see this as a sign of good will, they see it as a sign of weakness, and it is! That’s why you can’t give in. You have to fight. Otherwise, they just take advantage of you. Basic bully logic.
Two Republican senators told me tonight this vote shows they can execute the same strategy again — cut Democrats out of the negotiations on a gov’t funding bill, pass it thru the House, and expect Senate Dems to back down and not filibuster it.

“We liked it over here,” one said.
