The US campaign to starve Cuba of fuel should be understood as genocidal. They are targeting a whole nation, deliberately destroying conditions necessary for life, in flagrant violation of international law. Pure barbarism, there is no other way to describe it.

the left already supports policies that would ameliorate the societal disruption caused by AI, mass layoffs, etc. we support UBI, free healthcare, a robust safety net. we support breaking up the tech companies and turning things into public utilities. liberals and centrists oppose those policies.
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Yikes here are the numbers for the past 12 months. Everything is pretty much dead except healthcare/social assistance. Note that healthcare growth is largely not about the business cycle -- it's about the aging of the population and more elderly people needing care.

Tepid verbal opposition means nothing so long as Democrat representatives aren't calling for the resignation of Schumer and Jeffries who are the serial collaborators in leadership. Expel the fascist collaborators from your party if you want to demonstrate conviction, because this changes nothing.
I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.
