Men will literally tell you not to get used to being treated well in a relationship and then act shocked when you go "okay, bye then, if you don't plan to continue to treat me well in the future."
Anyway, male loneliness epidemic or something.

A hot take I have from being a pluralist is that there are a plurality of valid forms of resistance. The whole thing about pluralism is exactly this, that people will have different opinions and ideas about what effective resistance looks like for them.

Comparison shopping is for shoes for a trip, not cath labs to balloon your STEMI.
The thing about rationing healthcare that is unlike rationing most other things is that the people who need healthcare didn't choose to need healthcare and do not get a choice in how they can economize, or not, on healthcare

you don't have to put on blackface to get social media attention. you can simply develop mild depression, join a menswear forum, spend the next 15 years arguing about pants, and then weaponize the knowledge against your enemies on social media.

Someone is now mad the manager is involved for calling me an asshole.
"I shouldn't have to impress you or lose respect!" well, the part that's losing you respect is the part where you think I'm an asshole for asking you to document what you did

If I tell you that I am "not impressed" with you for not documenting over an hour of patient care and not communicating about a lack of documentation, the correct response is not "I shouldn't have to impress you!"

It's an understatement. Documenting what you did is not impressive.

Québec speaks French roughly how it was spoken three centuries ago at the royal court. The French distorted it since then, but we don’t give them shit for it 😊

If you want to stand up for marginalized populations, the first step — before any action — is: LISTEN.

Be aware that groups more vulnerable than your own have a better understanding of the risks they face than you do.

Don’t decide *for.*

Act *with.*

Yes. All the empirics on misinformation indicate that the way to defeat bad ideas is to mock and marginalize them. Constantly declaring "hey the far right isn't so bad" is a terrible strategy both morally and electorally.

Dems should be way more comfortable saying "look at these fucking psychos"
Progressives really hope, and maybe even believe, that there is some magic thing they can hijack to attract conservative voters.

The focus on this mythical quest is the central reason they lose.
I found this piece sad too, but mostly because it is part of a years-long effort by progressives to understand what "really" animates Trump voters.

We already know! It is racism, misogyny and misinformation. I know that sounds condescending or whatever but it's simply what all evidence suggests.

Resuming nuclear testing is a massive giveaway to China and Russia because we basically have the supercomputers to simulate them (look into why the DOE owns so many….) no and they don’t, so physical nuclear tests would give them a lot of data that they currently don’t have access to.

The reason for the pediatric viral surge of 2022 is because a virus-naive population saw mask-dropping all at the same time. These are kids who missed 2-3 viral seasons. I had not seen a lot of kids admitted with triple or quadruple respiratory viruses but in 2022 that became the norm.
The Coworkers were discussing this and there have honestly been years where we were laughing when flu shots showed up like "about time, we've been in viral season for a while!" We have all been saying the Summoning Words (RSV) while knocking on wood/our heads but team RSV vaccine is here for it.
