It seems like a lot of devs are worried that this is going to be too much effort to put into their games that they're working on to have a end of life goal? Either that or they simply don't understand that all current live service / online only games wouldn't be affected by this just new ones.

This shit sucks we didn't loose our insurance but our Job now has a "you have to request a pay raise" rule implementation, meaning unless you are the next coming of Christ, you aren't getting shit. Stuff sucks hard right now.

people will speak about a game they played as a kid with the same reverence that they might a great song or novel, about how it engrossed them totally and completely. They may even tear up talking about it. and then you ask what game it was and it was Spongebob battle for bikini bottom

The remote work debate was funny because it forced the question "Is a job something valuable you do or is it a place you go to be watched like daycare" and the answer for a lot of them was yeah it's the daycare thing now come on inside recess is over

People can see people on Bluesky. Following an account means you’re shown their posts. That’s it.

It really is that simple.

Algorithms are the enemy of genuine engagement. Doesn’t matter how many people are on FB or Twitter when an automated gatekeeper has built walls around them.
There has been some debate over whether bluesky is good for game promotion or whether actual consumers are here. As a test, last week we did two posts with mid-level performance - one from the company account, one from mine - and got ~900 wishlists. There was no other promo elsewhere. Pretty solid.

Holy cow final fantasy 14 is great, I have put so much time into it already. Such a beautiful art style and world, fantastic story, the gameplay is even fun (surprising since being hotbar combat), i get why MMOs absorb people now if it clicks with them. Definitely worth trying out! #MMO #videogames

TikTok wasn't never something I used regularly but the fact that a social media site got removed because all the big companies don't like it sucks, it was a community & culture of it's own, now it's just gone. People are gonna flock to right wing controlled sites. Misinformation about to get worse 🙄

The TikTok ban isn't just a platform reconfiguration, it will reshape the political leaning of the creator economy and permanently alter whose voices get heard online. Please read my story

I will recommend two Anime movies that are just great: something a bit more wholesome and grounded in real life: A Silent Voice

A massively underrated movie that's a bit fantastic is: Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise, first big thing studio Ginax worked on

Probably fallout 3, I think back in the day I played through that game like 30 times. It got to the point where a lot of early game areas I knew what items where in the baskets that sat on shelves.

Great video! As someone who usually cares about story and games as art, I too am surprised how Astrobot just kinda stole the best game of the year for me. It's just such pure joy

Not saying genres aren't a useful tool, the definitely are, but it's definitely not as rigid as alot of people think it is
December 10, 2024 at 6:52 AM
This is why it's funny to me when people get precise with what genre a game is, nothing is ever gonna fit the mold. Look at immersive sims as a genre when people ask what makes an immersive sim most people say something along the lines of, it has a lot of options and "you'll know it when you see it"

We need to bring 10in vertical monitors into the mainstream, i wanna see ultra wide 32:10. With a default size of 16:10. The extra space is so great for games and I just wish it was more available dammit

I wish I grew up with 4X and RTS games way more then I did. For me they feel like such a learning curve and hard to get to grips with. Probably gonna try and get into one again soon because so many of them have really kickass settings...and some I've spent too much money on for barely playing lol
