For those not in science, I’d researchers have to buy a “Creative Commons” license for our publications so people can read them for free.
My last publication cost me over $7k (as in, $7,000).
It’s a lot of money that I apparently just shoved into the maw of an AI machine. Yay 🤡

For the last decade I’ve made all my papers, all my writings free. I believe no one should have to pay for an education.
Now I’m watching my words get eaten by a machine with no consent, compensation, or credit, only to be barfed back out again incorrectly.
