I realized it's been a while since I last posted a cloud photo. There it is, a panorama of this very dry but cold winter in the NE Alps, together with some cool lenticularis and stratiform clouds from the edge of action of a Mediterranean cyclone...

boah....better than my views of it in Kiruna in October!
A bit with a delay, but it was quite an aurora night in midlatitudes...even visible from Vienna a tiny bit (no good photos though)...here seen from a mountain in E Austria.

Wien und Graz liegen an der Grenze, im Südosten der beiden Städte fällt wohl nur wenig Schnee, in höheren Lagen wird es schön weiß.

Erstmals seit 17 Tagen hat sich heute Vormittag in #Linz (OÖ) mal wieder "länger" die Sonne blicken lassen - für exakt 53 Minuten.

Ok, so it’s not all doom and gloom.
I remember when the median projected warming was much higher than it is today!

The Paris Agreement works! In 2015, our current policies pathway led to 3.6°C of warming by 2100. 10 years later this has dropped by around 1°C. This framework has rewritten the rules of global climate action - sparking investment, innovation, & reforms that would simply not have happened without it

- Null-Grad-Grenze gegen 3800m steigend
Auf der Rax in 1547m wurden heute erstmals in einem November 18,9° gemessen (Messreihe seit 1995).
