It is reasonably straightforward to work out the government’s tactics on electricity prices. It has good reason to believe they have peaked in real terms, and should fall in future years, particularly in the years approaching what will probably be their next contestable election in 2031. #auspol

Dear ABC radio, please have somebody with more expertise than me explain to you why “renewables are the cheapest form of power” and “power prices have gone up in the last years in spite of increased renewables” are not contradictory statements. And why slowing renewables will not bring prices down.
