I'm putting it into the world -- I want to be promoting my first novel within the next five years.

I'm going to make it happen.

I sold my books at a holiday market today and I can't tell you how many people I talked to who said they wished they read more (or any) books and I am begging everyone to read more books. You don't even have to buy them. Just go to the library. It will be so good for your brain.

ProPublica spoke to about 150 people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.”

We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words.

Parents, idk how y'all do it. My nephew was over for 4 hours today and I am spent.

I love my nephews, but I am so happy that they go back to their parent's house at the end of the day.

SENATE DEMOCRATS: fine, we give in

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

Donald Trump simply does not care that Americans can’t afford to put food on the table, pay rent, or go to the doctor.

I would absolutely pay 50% income tax if it meant people could have housing, food, clean water, healthcare, and education. It doesn't take 50% income tax to make those things happen and many other countries are proof of that.

This is actually a great example of what the "pro-family" party thinks of pregnancy and childbirth. (They mostly do not.)
DeSantis said “Most people, particularly under 50, what they really need is a catastrophic plan that’s affordable, where then they can pay whatever they’re doing out of a health savings account.”

Ron DeSantis says people under 50 don’t have much use for comprehensive health insurance
'Catastrophic care' should be enough for them.

Chicago Mayor Issues Defiant Call For A General Strike
It was an audacious proposal, given that the U.S. has never held a true, nationwide general strike.

This is exactly why the “social media isn’t real life/isn’t real activism” makes me furious. Some of our most powerful disabled activists cannot protest IRL. And btw the Crips for eSIMs for Gaza have raised millions online. Suck on that the next time you critique online activism
Not for nothing but also love it when the “you should just not go out in public” people then yell at you for spending your time advocating online. Okay. Where should I go then? Not out. Not online. Dead? Would dead be okay?

If anyone's wondering how this is possible, the answer is these strike teams are moving terrifyingly fast. Grab first, ask questions later. We were about 8-15 minutes behind them today for several hours. They're jumping out of vans, chasing people across lawns, taking them from bus stops, etc
30 people disappeared in this shaded area today.
