modesty laws prevented showing even one lousy frame of John Waters' PINK FLAMINGOS (1972) in the trailer, so the only footage in it is of people reacting to a screening they just came out of. every single type of extant queer person is contained in the specific sequences I have selected here

The use of “Excellence” as a term in biz-speak is really starting to make my eyes roll hard enough to induce headaches.

Another Low for Liberal Design
There has been a lot of noise in the design world this week about a declaration from the United States Secretary of State to switch government correspondence from Calibri back to Times New Roman.

I don’t know if this movie’s version of the afterlife makes much sense, but at least it features some sweet Bijou typefaces, which is heavenly to me.

Two major ingredients of my nerdery, together 🖖🕴️
Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

your money. They deserve it.

This reminds me: I also had a (mini) stroke a few years back, and one incident increases the odds other being another. So, please keep an eye out for these warning signs with me (or anyone else you might know know): www.cdc.gov/stroke/signs...

The voice of who now?
I think everybody has a “Wallace Shawn from Young Sheldon” — my first one would probably be “Vincent Price, the guy who did the voice of Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective”

Dear Jim,
First of all, I *love* this idea! Unfortunately, I spoke with Legal and identified a few issues with this approach. For starters…
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.

I know “Fawlty Towers” was her main legacy, but to me she’ll always be the sublimely snooty Miss Elizabeth Mapp from “Mapp & Lucia”.

Makes #zines and make a difference!
I’ve been plugging away for years at my little zines and fonts and such, because I would honestly go nuts if I didn’t have creative outlets, but as the years go by I also feel strongly that telling queer stories and making queer art — even nerdy stuff like mine — is radical and important and real.
