2025 was one massive period of learning experiences in a million different ways. That goes for both personal life and the hustle over at Three Sails Studios. Our little company went through so much this year, and we're gonna keep working hard to bring you more quality games as the years go on.

Working on Da Xia agIn, caught ast screening, "Light on the Lotus Hill", about Venerable Pu Liang who supported Nanyang Volunteers (SEAsian Chinese auxiliaries during Sino-Japanese war). He was executed by Japanese imperial forces occupying Singapore, during the Sook Ching （洗清） massacres of Chinese.

The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

Just came back from leading a student trip to Peninsular Malaysia (Penang and Kedah); led 27+ undergraduates, most of whom have never been in the wilderness or rural areas before! Flood risks due to typhoons and monsoons, so took ISOS advice to cancel higher-risk activities (no jungle trek, alas..)

A bit of good cheer! Monster Core 2 for Pathfinder 2e just released, and I can talk about it; I'm happy to have worked on consulting and design for it!

Been quiet; in and out of hospitals and clinics (surgeries, medications, tests, therapies), mostly just trying to stay alive (and not become broke). Hopefully 2026 will be a bit easier. Making peace with quite a lotta pain, loss, disappointments; rather hard on my voice and confidence. But I'll try.

Inspirations or resonances include Water Margin, Longest Day in Chang'an, Brotherhood of Blades, Blades of the Guardians, The Litchi Road; along with historical travelogues of Wang Dayuan's Daoyi Zhilüe and Zhao Rukuo's Zhu Fan Zhi!
