there are so many gutting stories, but this one is hitting me extra hard. just imagining wael tarabishi slowly dying without his dad there to care for him because he was jailed by ICE makes me…i don’t have words. this country is disgusting.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.

This is tomorrow’s front page for The Minnesota Star Tribune. In a moment in which much of legacy media are enabling and condoning the worst actions of the Trump admin, the reporters and editors of the Star Tribune are not holding back one bit.

I fear my tipping point into madness is "Thus is un-American" posts in response to ICE terrorizing immigrants. I beg you to open Wikipedia (I would say a book but let's start small) and read up on The Trail of Tears, Fugitive Slave Catchers, Japanese internment, Indian Boarding schools & Jim Crow

Thank you, @wmata.com, for getting me home safely tonight! And for having an accurate website when I set an alarm so that I could catch the last train.

If someone says they're from Indivisible ask them what they think of Chuck Schumer. If they say they like him it's ICE.

i also find it notable that despite signing this contract and discussing what it meant to her, rodman also said “I still think there’s room for growth to include more players [in] being paid more money, and to just be valued in general … we want the best players here and we want them to stay”

the league tried its damnedest to mess this up, and if rodman didn't have the connection to dc and the community of supporters at audi field, she would be yet another star leaving. they'll tout this as a league-wide win, it is not, the win is the property of the women's soccer community in dc.

If you get off on this, you’re a monster and don’t you dare pretend to worship God.

AOC: An agency that is attacking U.S. citizens, kidnapping five-year-olds and using them as bait, and privately circulating the idea that they can violate the rights of Americans by busting down their doors—they deserve to be defunded, and I’ll take any step in that direction.

although i'll admit I used my insider tip to impress one of my professors on the first day of class because she'd started talking about trin and the HIP rule and such and I said "between you and me and everybody else in in this room, she is re-signing they're just holding onto the announcement" lmao

I flew down to south Texas today to do my job - investigate why people are dying in ICE detention centers.

I was just illegally denied entry to Dilley Detention Center. Because they have something to hide.

NEW: Finding that the 1/8 Noem policy requiring 7-day notice for congressional visits to immigration detention facilities is a "new agency action," Judge Cobb (Biden) denies a motion to enforce her order blocking an earlier policy. This is the wrong vehicle to challenge the new action, she finds.

I don’t know how the narrative of American democracy can survive this. The country voted to give the nuclear codes to a mental toddler who’s going to start a war because he didn’t get a participation trophy.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
