US citizens trying to move to Spain:

Does anyone have any information on how a teacher of Spanish and a teacher of Maths with two teenagers could move to Spain?

Thanks in advance for any info/ideas 🙏

Hell, fuck it:

Give the UK ID Card project to the 🇫🇷 Agence Nationale des Titres Sécurisés (ANTS), IDEMIA, and La Poste while you're at it

We'll do a better job and have been running ID card systems for decades while you brits have been crying about the illuminati coming to steal your jaffa cakes
So maybe everyone should lobby against Palantir having a role in the project, rather than lobbying against the incoming UK ID card system?
I don't object to an online ID card system.
I object to Palantir having anything to do with it.

Keep thinking of arguments for why it would be completely insane to dump a prime minister with a huge majority just 14 months in, and also about how if he's not going to say a single word in opposition to the kind of shit we saw today then I no longer feel convinced by any of those arguments.

The obvious response if Trump II doesn't lift the visa ban is to hold the UN General Assembly in Geneva.

To talk about trade in Britain without mentioning the EU is a bit like trying to explain the solar system without mentioning the sun.

Anyang Museum in Henan Province finished restoration on a local tomb mural depicting a black and white cat (note the bell collar!).

Belonging to official Zhao Yigong, the tomb was completed in 829 CE; it's thought to be the earliest Chinese tomb mural of a domestic cat.

I've seen many issues linked to trade agreements, but this seems a first... It should be clear by now that one cannot seriously negotiate with the current US administration.
J.D. Vance is trying to force the U.K. to drop LGBTQ+ hate speech protections as part of a TRADE DEAL.

This isn’t about jobs or free speech. It’s about giving bigots more room to incite violence.

Trump’s tariffs and Brexit red tape are hammering British manufacturers—I saw it firsthand today with @iansollom.bsky.social at a factory making vital components for the car industry.

We need to stand up to Trump’s trade war and secure a UK–EU customs union to protect British businesses.

1/4. On the White House’s theory, if they abduct you, get you on a helicopter, get to international waters, shoot you in the head, and drop your corpse into the ocean, that is legal, because it is the conduct of foreign affairs.

Dear China hands,
If Trump eventually caves to Beijing, which seems more likely to me because he just did so to the bond market, signaling to China — second biggest holder of US treasury bonds — that he “has no cards”, what will it mean for the wider geopolitical competition?

Wow. Rep. Jake Auchincloss minces no words about Signalgate on Piers Morgan: “Pete Hegseth is lying to the American people, lying to Congress, lying to the military.” “It’s incompetence incarnate…It’s embarrassing & it’s dangerous.”

This is how it’s done.

The EU stated that sanctions would remain in place until the complete and unconditional withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

Trump is probably the best thing to happen to the idea of EU membership since the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Europeans' belief in the importance of the EU has surged to record levels, according to a survey released yesterday.

74% now say their country benefits from being in 🇪🇺 - up from 50% in 2010. And the biggest reason is about security, *not* the economy.
