Wait, so if we switch to Bitcoin we won't have to pay most of the wine-with-wife fee? I'm gonna save so much.
Eric Trump: "You can send $500 million worth of bitcoin on a Sunday night at 11pm while having a glass of wine with your wife for virtually zero fees."

You gotta respect Aaron Glenn for building the Jets up the same way he saw it done with the Lions, namely with just the worst corners you've ever seen.
BREAKING: The Colts are acquiring Jets corner Sauce Gardner, per source.

Everyone should listen to this.

It’s easy to blame Rogan for understanding the situation far too late, but the important thing is that he’s using his platform-with his millions of listeners-to talk about it now.

This one show will reach more normal GOP folks than we ever could.
The con worked, until it didn’t?

ROGAN: “I really thought they were just going to go after the criminals… I really thought there was enough gang members.”

ME: He still doesn’t get it. That’s what Trump wanted everyone to believe. They’re not even trying to go after “the criminals”.

Have we always done this shtick where ceos can just say what they want and people accept it as True and Wise instead of a sales pitch?

"Papa John says pizza most important meal for most families" okay who gives a shit
don't worry, Sam Altman is confident that his efforts to eliminate vast numbers of jobs will all just sort of work out for the unemployed, eventually, possibly after they starve to death, which is technically a form of having it work out

Sam Altman Says If Jobs Gets Wiped Out, Maybe They Weren't Even "Real Work" to Start With
Worried that AI will destroy work? Well, Sam Altman asks if you've considered what a farmer from half a century ago thinks of your job, first.

I wonder how much of this trend towards "all the money or nothing" is a downstream effect of index funds.

If everybody and their mom is getting ~10%, and you're a VC or finance guy who needs to beat that, you probably can't settle for "good business that makes money".

Unforeseen consequence!
Whenever anyone says how much of the U.S. economy is tied to AI right now, I'm like...damn, what if a single rich person had any idea other than "try to zero out labor costs through theft."

Legitimately, one of the most "the Onion couldn't have written it" facts I've ever heard. I had to google to prove to myself it was true.
There is something appropriate about him recommending a man who is ostensibly very patriotic and loves America more than anyplace else but then also made the same patriotic song for Canada because he could make additional money if he said he loved Canada and that Canada is the best

It's interesting, although trite, to note the bad faith involved in the panic over trans mass shooters. If one were to take the logic seriously (if a group commits disproportionate amounts of shootings, take their guns), wouldn't this point to taking guns out of the hands of white men?

An argument for UBI you rarely see is that it would support efficient markets. If you have wide gulfs in purchasing power (and boy, do you) the market can't adequately receive signals from many participants. A UBI would align the market with the needs of society more broadly.
Basic income should exist regardless of technology.

Just got an invoice for daycare for my three year old, and was thrilled to see an $800 reduction in the cost due to the CWELCC benefit. I suspect people could quibble about means-testing but I want to underscore that this is real savings for parents. Good pro-social policy is possible!

Just tried watching Ezra Klein’s latest NYT podcast episode on how the U.S. got to this point where vaccines are so politicized.

It’s pretty clear that Klein and his guests—David Wallace Wells and Rachael Bedard—really do not understand why/how the political right turned on vaccines.

My issue with AI is that, at present, it's mostly harm and little benefit, the argument to it becoming transformative is the existing money invested, and the case for that transformation to be positive is "assume communism".

So; bad now, likely to be lame going forwards, and if not lame, evil.

This would have much more sway if they removed the "youth" part. If my kids need to go hold a rifle for a year, the same boomers who sent them there should be doing the same.
