Working with distributors is really helpful to build sustainable income. Especially with some of the smaller distributors like Peregine Post Press and Compose Dream. It also helps the shop, because they can easily re-order things from a distributor, but a small publisher might fall off the radar.

The World We Left Behind was a scary release because it's the first game I didn't crowdfund. I put money into the game but had no idea how it would sell.
In the month it's been out, sales have paid back all costs of production - the print run, the art, the layout.

Humans are messy. We are very good at justifying things to ourselves, and rendering each other into targets.
What is it about games and the game work we do that contributes to how we form our communities & interact with each other? Maybe that is one thing that is worth thinking about.
