The best way to honor Charlie's memory is to continue his work: engage with each other, across ideology, through spirited discourse. In a democracy, ideas are tested through words and good-faith debate — never through violence.

Look if you don't like guns, fine. But this very specific carve out portends really bad future everyone. When they determine who is considered "mentally ill" to limit firearm access, the only ones left with the rights to have guns are the state and populations that historically loved lynchings.
Banning trans people from owning guns is a really REALLY significant escalation and I think the scariest part about it that's not being discussed at all is that the plan is to declare that trans people are mentally ill

If you're looking to allow preventable disease run rampant to kill your enemies, you run a huge risk of the biological weapon (eg unchecked measles) getting wildly out of your control. From a war standpoint, you're just as likely to kill your own side.

i think it's painful to come to the realization that a lot of powerful people - including many who say they're on the side of truth and democracy - were willing to affirmatively endorse child rape because it meant that racist and anti-worker policies they approve of would be implemented
I think what has made us all feel like we are taking crazy pills is that these stories have been public knowledge for years and nobody did anything about it!
