The combined wealth of the 10 richest people in America jumped $698 billion over the past year.

This figure was supercharged by Donald Trump’s tax giveaways to his fellow billionaires.

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good.

I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

After a week long beach vacation, I cannot figure out why so many people romanticize long walks on a beach. That shit sucks. If I could magically land on the beach where I want to lounge in between swims I’d be a better beach person.

But that’s all we get from the Trump admin.

Voted for the incredibly smart, exceptionally qualified, economist backed Kamala.
Don’t look at me, I voted for the black lady who didn’t want to burn down our economy.

Thank you Senator Booker for not only breaking the record, but doing so with meaningful and powerful speech.
I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Call your reps. Tell them to vote no on SB 105 - removes required IEP for LNH Scholarship. Funds intended to support special education students will go to those who can pay for a diagnosis. Be a voice for our SPED students.

My Costco officially no longer carries books. The book table was always my first stop in the store. 😭 I love my local bookstore, but it’s a 30 minute drive away. #booksky

Several red state AGs including mine are suing to dismantle 504s in schools.

Please, call your reps and AGs to demand they let all children learn in public schools. The end goal is to delete all special education services. All accommodations.

One of the best local supports your can put into action right now is at your library! And most have a lot more than just books and movies. Mine has kitchenware, home tools, seeds, 3D printer, cricut and more! #booksky
I've been seeing a lot of posts about readers trying to curb their own book buying. Let me remind you of the library. Libraries can use your support now more than ever. When you checkout library books this lets funding authorities know the library is worthy of taxpayer money. 1/3

I tried Story Graph a couple years ago and got frustrated quickly with the differences from Goodreads. But, I’m loving it so much more this year. They have grown a lot and the data is fun!

Can someone explain why TikTok is a bigger national security concern than a social media platform run by a South African technofeudal oligarch actively interfering in our elections and sabotaging our national interests here and abroad?

I read 100+ books a year. I use my local library for at least 80% of that. It has saved me an unknowable amount of money throughout my life. I generally only buy books I especially loved to keep in my personal library and for future rereads.
It also makes it harder for them to ban books.
