Freckled with summer light
A glow of red lilies.

I've finally got around to curating a selection of films about the #climate crisis 🎥

There's lot of mediocre climate films out there, but for me these stand out head & shoulders above the rest 🎞️

They make excellent resources for classrooms, lecture halls, or community cinema's 🎬

A repost. It’s long, and Bluesky was wonky when I posted it. If you scroll down and get a prompt to “read one more reply,” just click and you’ll see the next set of posts.

If you care about LA, or Altadena, or the fires, or disaster history, or where we’re all headed, I hope you’ll take a look.
The Eaton/Altadena Fire, nine months later: a personal and historical thread:

Nine months after it was devastated by fire, I went back to my old neighborhood. I once lived immediately south of the mouth of Eaton Canyon, where the Altadena fire ignited on the evening of January 7th 2025.

Always a help at 1 am. Warm, soft, cuddly, and giving me goo-goo eyes. Love the goo-goo eyes; unconditional kitty love is the best.

I was recently invited to present my thoughts on the role of universities in the #climate crisis

Several audience members asked that I share my slides, so I've decided to post them here too as an open resource

I'd love any feedback, & for you to share examples of projects & best practice.

Long 🧵😊

Cookie is suspicious of the giant wheel. I hope he and his brothers will learn to use it. Right now they’re weirded out by the big thing that moves when stepped upon. *Sigh.*

Fall & Winter berries for birds! Heart's-a-Busting, Euonymous americanus, a beautiful and bizarre fruit. The teensy flowers are pollinated by ants and small beetles.
