Israel hasn't stopped gunning down the Palestinians they're starving, as those Palestinians try to feed themselves

There is nothing wrong with continuing to say it: these are war crimes, this is genocide, this is murder. It must be stopped, and those perpetrating the crimes must be held accountable

It is bizarre the way people with guns, bulletproof vests, riot shields, tanks, and other military gear act like rocks are an equal threat. It’s madness! If you are scared of rocks and think the punishment for having them thrown at you should be death, you shouldn’t be in law enforcement!

The cruelty in today's politics feels horribly corrosive. Bringing up that hard-working immigrant families — undocumented, yes, but not violent criminals — are being ripped apart based on immigration status doesn't bring compassion or even pause, but gleeful cheers.

It’s so damn evil.

I have an elderly family member with mental health challenges. Bureaucratic documents make him feel paranoid, like he has done something wrong. It has massive impacts on him. At times he has gone missing or needed hospitalization in these moments.

This letter would ruin him.

Again, this is how you know the whole DOGE thing is absolute bullshit. We’re apparently on the brink of financial ruin at all times when it comes to Social Security or healthcare or college in this country while simultaneously there’s infinite money when it comes to war.
President Trump announces he'll be requesting a record-breaking $1 trillion Pentagon budget.

"$1 trillion, and nobody's seen anything like it. We have to build our military and we're very cost conscious. But the military is something that we have to build, and we have to be strong"

the present shortcoming is not that people protesting are cringe it's that there isn't presently a mass commitment to the kind of action that would force regime change.

that isn't a criticism, just an observation. these things take time. and with time all things are possible.

1. Stop assuming people announce all their activism on social media.

2. Stop demanding people announce all their activism on social media.

3. Stop deriding people for not announcing all their activism on social media.

4. Dunking on people on social media isn't activism and isn't praxis.

Today’s protests were big.

Now add the huge numbers of people who, with good reason, would not feel safe making their anger with the administration public right now.

This movement is even bigger than big.

Good thread on the importance of protest.

I’ve always held to heart the idea that protests aren’t the work, they’re the promise to do the work.

It is a meaningful step forward to see so many rise up.
Protests aren’t the only tool in the anti-authoritarian toolkit, but they’re incredibly important. Protests help us see each other; they make it feel safer to refuse to obey the dictator, and make it more possible for us to organize mass non-cooperation.

It’s an essential step in the process.
