Now's probably a good time to finally make a pinned post. Hey there! Writing for tech is my day job, but I also draw, animate, and take photos when I'm not working. I do all four on my website.

I finally started watching the Patlabor show and I'm enjoying it so far. As much as I love the first two films, it's nice to see the show lean more into the comedic side and take a monster/robot-of-the-week approach for a change.

The longer these storms hang around the city, the further this song gets stuck in my head. (Not a complaint, mind you.)

The design of this bumper sticker, which you can see all over the bay area, hasn't changed in over 30 years, because unfortunately it has never not been relevant.

"Threatening to drive wealth out of state" is pretty rich (🥁) coming right off the heels of Mamdani's victory proving rich NYers threatening to leave were full of shit.

No surprise that Bernie supports this while Newsom opposes.

In Zelda 2, a woman appears in each town, beckoning Link into her home. They disappear inside and Link's health begins to refill.

One reddit user recently asked if this scene was *intentionally* suggestive. While that seems very unlikely, I thought I'd look into it.

I've been enjoying Ametora by W. David Marx, but I had to stop after reading this Bain prediction (from 2023) about luxury goods sales in China by 2025 to see how it panned out. Suffice to say, it didn't age well. 😂

Depending on when this video was made, I love thinking that Phil was either in full Troy McClure mode doing this, or Troy McClure was an exact replication of doing this bit.

One thing I miss from Blogger/Blogspot's (or even Tumblr's) heyday is when a lot of the animation industry was on there and talking shop about art or animation techniques in natural longform writing. Reading Shiyoon's posts scratches that itch for me.

Pretty disappointed in both @humblebundle.com and especially in @girlswhocode.bsky.social. Please teach girls how to code, don't push them into generative AI. That won't build their skills. Prioritize foundational programming skills and awaken their interest. "Tired of long days writing code"???

I agree w/ Derek's comments in general, but I want to present this as a counterpoint to the quoted excerpt he highlights. At the end of the day, Kojima's running his own small studio that's released 2 games in 10 years. They need to sell!
