Said Anglophillia was a) responsible for why the Dixiecrats were so pro-Allied in both World Wars and b) was generally regarded as really weird by actual British people, particularly those who visited the South.
it has more in common, in fact, with with the antebellum slaveholder preoccupation with (its vision of) medieval europe, a romantic notion of Anglo supremacy that you can see articulated, in similar form, during the early days of american imperialism at the turn of the 20th century.

Re. 2 that's the thing I hate the most abt modern leftism (and most gives away their game) is their ridiculous belief that Russia is faultless and benevolent.
1) This is an insult to Che who actually put his money (and life) where his mouth was, and I say that as someone who dislikes Che
2) Hasan vocally likes the worlds largest dictatorship.
Leftism can never be the mainstream in America's ultracapitalist political climate.

Hasan is the closest thing to the Che Guevara of our time and actually wants social progress for all of the world's citizens.

This was my happiest Val Day and probably always will be. There's something about sex with an ex that is um, uniquely enjoyable. Highly recommend. 💕

Two months after our breakup me and an exgf decided to go out for Valentines Day why not. Italian place and small jazz club. She was too tipsy to drive so I drove. Halfway there she strips down in the car and begins to, you know. Got home and had the Best. Sex. Ever. We didn't get back together tho.

Leonard Leo is a lawyer, but he's never argued a case in court. He's never held elected office.

But for years he rebuilt the American legal system, resulting in the Supreme Court's right-wing supermajority.

He's harkening back to the days when there were some decent Rs like McCain, Romney etc. Who would follow the same moral compass as the Ds sometimes and vote likewise on a few D sponsored bills. Unfortunately 2026 isn't the time for nostalgia. We must face the fraught present and the future head on.

Correct. Now is the time to be very clear on the fact that you don't give a fucking inch to fascists. Not on anything. Not ever. Everything they are doing is per se illegitimate. The very minimum you demand is an immediate, across-the-board return to regular democratic order and norms. Nothing less.
There is no way Senate Dems should vote for DHS funding while Republicans are threatening to nationalize elections and Trump is threatening to do it by executive order. ICE reforms are no longer enough. Their authoritarianism must be fought with every legislative lever available.
