Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

When the government decided to let COVID-19 loose, they decided at that exact same time to do two things.

Make life difficult and lonely for elderly and disabled people.

Kill elderly and disabled people by playing dress up and pretend it’s 2019, because we want to be “kind”.

I'm only up to the third episode (there are eight), and I can't look away either. It is taut and scary, not to mention there's a gorgeous little dog named "Steve" who I'm terrified isn't going to make it to the end! #TheBeastInMe #ClaireDanes #MatthewRhys #Netflix

🔹Blood test detected CFS with 92% accuracy.

🔹CFS and long COVID overlap means it may lead to a long COVID test.

🔹Unclear exactly when either test might be available.

Tern makes a good point — years of COVID infections have weakened immunity for many, which could explain why recent flu seasons are hitting harder than before.

Tern’s reply: "Perhaps there's so much flu now because Covid infections make people vulnerable to flu."

Well said Prof. I wonder who will sensible Liberal voters turn to now?
For the first time in Australia’s history, more than 50% of our power comes from renewables. Just as we achieve this tremendous milestone, the LNP demonstrates their commitment to not only supporting fossils but to becoming fossils

As a committed unionist throughout my working life I am overjoyed to hear the ACTU speaking out against Nazism. I come from a long line of unionists on both sides of my ancestry & I follow Robert Reich not least because he champions unionism in the US - something you don't hear very often.

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Someone said it’s unethical to restrict the movements of elderly people when there is a covid outbreak in a nursing home.

Doesn’t feel too ethical to me to have low vaccination rates, no air quality improvement, and just spread diseases either though.

Seems kinda evil.

On a personal note, I’ve been masking since the start of the pandemic and I’ll continue to for as long as it takes.

I have two family members with serious health issues, and I want to protect their health as well as my own.

For me, everywhere carries risk, so I mask everywhere I go.
