"Once any logical planner assesses Venezuela’s true scale, the more apt comparison becomes obvious: A U.S. invasion into Venezuela would mirror the Russian miscalculation in Ukraine."

Note for Democratic politicians: you don't have to start your condemnations of ICE raids with "We all want to catch violent criminals, but..." Just say "These raids have nothing to do with catching criminals and everything to do with terrorizing innocent minority groups."

The old-guard conservatives didn't believe the groyper/white-nationalist fringe was in charge, because a lot of the people pointing it out weren't "real conservatives" to them. Better late than never. www.thebulwark.com/p/the-conser...

The reason we have laws* against bribery is that companies will absolutely bribe politicians at the very first opportunity if it is good for the bottom line, because they see it as a sound business decision, not a civilizational betrayal.
Coinbase donated to Trump's $300 million White House ballroom project as an appeal to the administration, Emilie Choi, the cryptocurrency exchange's president and COO, said at Axios' BFD event today.

$20 trilllion!! Bahaha. Who could possibly believe this? What is even the point? The Saudis would have to invest their entire economy to make their commitment. “But he’s a salesman!” they’ll say. And a lot of people are fools and marks.
The farthest Trump’s own Treasury Secretary will go is “I think those commitments are real.”

Fox News credulously reports that "the Saudis now say their investment pledge in the US will be increased to $1 trillion." THE ENTIRE GDP OF SAUDI ARABIA IS $1.1 TRILLION, so this is total nonsense.
There is no mechanism for eliminating the income tax in Georgia to expand the state’s economy. The 1980s caricature of whatever supply-side economics was is now a policy plank. If you want to shrink government, cut spending. Otherwise, you end up like Kansas. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansas_...

Trump: And you know, we got rid of the drip drip water, we call it the drip drip, where it drip drips out of the sink, states with tremendous water, so much water they have nothing but problems getting rid. They had restrictions on water. It comes down from heaven, right?

Stop calling MTG a "voice of reason." She's acting like any cult leader who's been pushed out from an internal power struggle. She's promoted Sandy Hook as a hoax and Jewish space-laser conspiracies. She is nothing less than a complete loon, whom no one should take seriously.

“With immigration agents under intense pressure to deport thousands of people each day, Ms. Lopez was pushed through the system swiftly and was deported within four days of the factory raid. As a result, Jorge is now cared for by two siblings who are barely adults themselves.”

Every single ICE dollar in 2029 can go towards bringing people back - if they want to come - and processing immigration claims paperwork.

One of the stupidest things I had to witness up close this year at DOE was the full-on effort to throw money at defunct or dying coal assets, all because Trump made a bunch of economically illiterate promises on camera.

If you estimate this as 5 million households, less than 4% of the country, PE buying up homes is a much much bigger impact in many areas. In Atlanta, it’s not even close.
HUD Secretary Scott Turner: "I want to get to the root: over 12 million illegal aliens came into our country, which has put a great strain on our housing supply and affordability."

I don’t think most brains can wrap around how huge the country is. 12 million people - how many households is that? 5 million? - spread across the country is not impacting national freaking housing supply.
