Biggest goal? I want to be curriculum. I want entire semesters of classes taught about my work. I want 9 honorary doctorates and at least three works translated into 80 languages.

I want to head a new Harlem Renaissance.
what is the biggest writerly goal you are willing to cop to publicly? I would like to be nominated for a Lammy

“Garden of the Bloodpotter” is available to read at @psychopomp.com , which is itself a veritable garden of strange novellas and short fiction.

This is like a bat signal for me.
I am so excited to graduate and finally start teaching these kids using play, multi-learning-style techniques, and just plain weirdness. It’s possible, it just takes a new kind of teacher for this new kind of student.

#sffchat My fave openings are ones where the main character’s personality comes through in dialogue and action, instead of inner monologue (exception: when the inner monologue is captivating or hilarious.)
I do not detest the weather/travel/mirror opening when it’s funny. (Hitchhiker’s Guide)

There is an entire folder of pictures I took in Japan and they need to be made into mixed media collages immediately
u heard sharon, everyone post about their esoteric interests right fucking now. for the good of the community, we need to be hyperfixationmaxxing.
i think this site really needs to figure out how to grow the non-politics verticals (the baseball moment was a good thing!) because i suspect a lot of the bad clusters come out of the political clusters driving 95% of ENG-lang posts

We. Are. Not. A. Monolith.

It makes me sick to my stomach every time I read a post about how “Americans” bombed this or desecrated that- I’m still eating the greens and beans of ancestors who went through hell to be free Americans, and we aren’t down with ANY of this bullshit.

Words matter.

Conventions, if you use AI do not be surprised if creators turn down your invitations to be guests or even to be on panels.

Do not use tools trained on stolen work from creators and then tell them you want to honor or uplift them - that’s not what you’re doing. You’re stealing and being lazy.

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, being a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, is-- and always shall be-- your friend.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, is gonna need a bigger boat.
