Art is about transferring a feeling to someone else. To do that well usually requires empathy, or at least an understanding that other people are more than a threat or a resource to exploit.

Apple & Google removed ICE tracking apps in their app stores.

TikTok reportedly suppressed videos criticizing ICE & the shooting of Alex Pretti.

Meta blocked Facebook groups tracking ICE & links to a database of agents that the government wants to keep secret.

A reminder - before Trump, MAGA, Musk and Fox rewrote history - that this is what the entire country agreed had happened five years ago today:

Now, why do the US taxpayers have to subsidize Amazon to the tune of 11.6 billion dollars (that we know of) when they gross in excess of $311 billion annually (2024)?
When can’t your average American become stockholder in a corporation that looks out for our best interests?

I’ve been a democratic voter for 5+ decades and now I’m a Bernie independent! (Though I might have to switch back to primary some candidates…not sure yet.) Mainstream democrats will have to earn my vote because I’m not happy with their behavior this year.

Billie Eilish asked an important question: "If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?"

There are FIVE ways to accumulate a billion dollars:

1) Profiting from a monopoly
2) Insider-trading
3) Political payoffs
4) Fraud
5) Inheritance

Billionaires are the result of a failed system.

Civil society has to hold together and pull forward until the Democratic Party changes. It makes no sense to wait for the Democrats as a party. What makes sense is shifting the ground underneath them.
From street marches to court battles to the ballot box - we’ve challenged the power of this exceptionally unpopular president.

The lesson from each success we've had is that we need to ramp the political pressure up, always up, not back down, now more than ever.

Yes, money donations go farther in this context.
spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"
